I used to think “brand confusion” meant I needed better marketing.

Better strategies. Better tactics. Better frameworks to help me stand out and be seen.

So I went deeper.

And the deeper I went, the less clarity I had.
And the less I recognized myself in my own work.

This led me to push harder.
Tighten the messaging. Refine the systems. Build and release with precision.

And for a while, it worked.

At least on the surface.
But underneath it, something felt off.

Like I was getting better at building something that wasn’t mine.

I thought I was doing what I was supposed to do to compete.
But I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was looking at my own work through someone else’s lens.

And that’s where the loops started.

Proving myself. Over-refining. Second-guessing. Performing instead of creating.

Until eventually, I burned out.

Not because I wasn’t capable.
Because I had lost connection to what I was actually here to build.

There’s a point where clarity stops being about strategy.
And starts becoming something else entirely.
A kind of recognition.

That what you’re here to create has very little to do with the metrics you’ve been taught to chase.

And everything to do with whether the work actually feels like yours.

If you’ve felt that tension, you already know.

The endless feeds. The frameworks. The pressure to show up in ways that feel forced instead of true.

The quiet resistance to sharing, not because you don’t have anything to say, but because what you’re being told to say doesn’t feel like you.

And the exhaustion that comes from trying to shape yourself into something you were never meant to be.

What makes this harder is that some of it works.
You grow. You gain traction.

Which makes it even more confusing when it stops feeling meaningful.

The problem isn’t you.

It’s what you’ve been taught to build from.

The outside.
What works. What’s proven. What already exists.

Something that was never yours to begin with.

And it works. Until it doesn’t.

That’s the shift I’ve been writing and speaking into more directly.

Not as another framework to follow.
But as a way to understand what is actually yours to build from.

Because that’s the work that doesn’t just function. It holds.

I spoke about it more here:

Author your truth.
